Steve Edwards: Co-Founder / Lead Investigator

At the age of five, Steve Edwards had a major experience with the paranormal. Able to see people that no one else did, he lived a terrifying existence as a child. Scared of the dark , graveyards, and funerals , he didn't attend a funeral until he was in his early twenties. The few times he went with friends to a "haunted house", it was not by his choice; and generally resulted in unusual "events".  Real ghosts turned up and frightened the people he was with.  He was able to build a wall between him and the other side. But that didn't stopped them from trying to contact him. Fortunately, his curiosity gradually overcame his fears.

As a science major, Steve was fascinated by paranormal events reported in the news. Watching how science logic and equipment was being utilized by some of the TV paranormal teams; Steve decided to begin testing with equipment available. An experiment at a local  ghost club's  hunt in a cemetery changed his outlook that the paranormal could be "proven". Taking his own  recorder; he was astonished when children's voices were heard on the playback when there were none at the hunt. Gradually, as he  gathered more proof, he decided to become involved in an active role in the field. It became apparent that he wanted start his own group. By a chance in fate,  he was introduced to Lisa Hudson, who also shared his enthusiasm to do this type of investigative work. Together they formed the group now named North Central ParanormalNCP is fast becoming one of the most active paranormal teams in the country, under the direction of Lisa and Steve.

Steve is also a award winning watercolor artist, nationally known for his artwork. He currently has just received his B.S. in Education, and plans to teach in secondary school Biology, Earth Science, Chemistry, or Physics. He has been a network engineer and project manager in past occupations. And now, he has become known as a person of expert knowledge in the paranormal field.  As such, he has written articles for paranormal magazines, lead investigations for other paranormal teams, and been a guest speaker at paranormal conventions. He is frequently asked to be a  guest investigator of a few other paranormal teams, though NCP is his main outlet for investigations.  And those individuals who investigate with him have little doubt that paranormal entities are drawn to him.

Sheree Edwards: Investigator (Sensitive)

Sheree Edwards is the sensitive of the group. For years she has blocked her abilities to sense paranormal entities. With Steve, she had witnessed many paranormal events prior to the formation of North Central Paranormal. At one point, their home was experiencing major poltergeist activity. She joined with her husband in an outright war with the presence in their home until it was driven out. This combination of wills has been strong throughout their marriage and now carries over in this group. She has let down her barriers with the paranormal and is now a valuable member of NCP.

She has become more of an empathic over the last year of investigations. Her accuracy at finding spirit entities is very high. And amazingly when she detects a dark one, all had better believe her prediction; she is right the majority of the time.

Besides her family, her home, NCP and her job; she finds time to enjoy reading, walking, playing cards, and walking the family dog, Oreo. She enjoys swimming, flower gardening, and people watching.

Matt Campbell: Investigator (2nd Lead Investigator )

Matt has been interested in the paranormal since his childhood. Though no events occurred during that time, he has always been intrigued by the ghost stories of others. After graduating from Muncie Central High School in 2002, Matt went on to Ball State University. It was here that he encountered his first paranormal experiences. Living in two different houses with activity, and working in surgery (and morgue) at the local hospital where another incident occurred, Matt’s interest in the paranormal elevated. After graduating in 2007 with a B.S. in Biology, Matt completed an internship in a cadaver lab where yet another paranormal incident occurred. After all of his past experiences, Matt became infatuated with the lure of the paranormal.

He was introduced to Steve Edwards through a common friend, and they now share a common interest in investigating the paranormal using their combined science backgrounds. Matt joined NCP in March 2010 in the hopes of scientifically proving the existence of spirits and to help those who’s daily lives is being affected by the other side.  To date, many of the paranormal phenomena that Matt had only seen or heard about on TV, have become a reality for him. He has witnessed so much in paranormal activity, that he now knows "they" exist.

Matt has a very analytical mind and is excellent at debunking evidence. At first hard pressed to collect an EVP, he now is almost expert in his methods to do so. He is instrumental in analyzing evidence and validating what is accepted. His technical knowledge of computers makes him a natural at tech manager.

Jim Goodpaster: Investigator

Jim has been aware of the paranormal since the age of 11. At the age of 20 while visiting a friend, he saw his first full body apparition which included an actual conversation.  Several years later while stationed at Castle Air Force Base in California, he was living in a house with 2 roommates.  They found out they were sharing the home with someone that wasn’t paying rent.  Jim was scheduled to go into work at 11:30 pm  and after his alarm went off he had turned on a bedside lamp when all of a sudden there was a knock on the door.  Assuming it was one of his roommates he said something like who is it, a voice said "Jim you better get up so you are not late to work".  He said ok, got up, took a shower and started to shave.  After realizing he was all alone in a dark house with no lights on, he was very careful about finishing up shaving as his hands were shaking badly.

Jim’s growing reputation as an investigator has not gone unnoticed as he is frequently invited by several groups to be a guest investigator.  Jim was introduced to Steve at a location that was reputed to have a lot of activity.  The two of them stayed a couple of hours after everyone else had left and had some great experiences.  In talking about what they had seen and heard, they also realized that both had similar approaches to finding out the answers they are seeking.  Jim has degrees in Aeronautics, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering as well as working on Flight Simulators for 10 years in the military.  He has been able to use his education and work experience to look at the paranormal field with a logical form of “troubleshooting” which helps ensure that any evidence he comes up with passes the “smell test”.  Along with that Jim has been in sales for over 20 years aiding to his ability in conducting interviews to find out what is actually occurring.  This ability also helps in patiently helping clients to understand what their options are and how to handle what is occurring to find the right solution for the client.  Although Jim still has many personal questions, his main goal is simply to help people understand what is really happening to them and to give them peace of mind.

Jim has witnessed a lot of paranormal activity over the last 30 plus years both here in the US and abroad to include disembodied voices, being touched and poked, caught hundreds of EVP, seen shadows, full body apparitions and so on. He has written articles for a paranormal magazine about his experiences.  He also has plans to write a suspense thriller that involves a paranormal twist.
